Vikki C. Terrile

Vikki C. Terrile is a Director of Community Library Services for Queens Library in New York City. She received her MSLS in library science from Long Island University and her MA in urban affairs from Queens College, where her capstone project was on family homelessness. She has been a public librarian for more than sixteen years, focusing on serving underserved and socially excluded populations including detained/incarcerated youth and adults, families and youth experiencing homelessness, and youth with disabilities. Ms. Terrile has published and presented frequently on this work, including a chapter on serving homeless youth in Library Youth Outreach: 26 Ways to Connect With Children, Young Adults and Their Families, published in January 2014 by McFarland.

Sam J. Miller

Sam J. Miller is a writer and a community organizer. For the past ten years he's worked with Picture the Homeless, bringing homeless people together to fight for and win changes to city policy around issues like police harassment and housing. In 2007 he coordinated the writing of a major report that was required reading in urban planning courses at Columbia University—and was banned in New York State prisons. He is the co-editor of Horror After 9/11, an anthology published by the University of Texas Press.

Jack Fanous

Jack Fanous is the Founder and Executive Director of The GI Go Fund, a groundbreaking nonprofit organization that assists military veterans and their families. Under Jack’s leadership, the group has helped thousands of New Jersey veterans turn their lives around, guiding them to find employment, go to college, and access healthcare. His efforts have garnered nationwide attention, having been featured on ABC’s reality Show “Secret Millionaire”, as well as the Fox News Channel and CNN. Moreover, Jack was honored with the 2013 Russ Berrie Award for Making A Difference, which included a gift of $25,000 that he graciously donated to the GI Go Fund to further the group’s efforts with the men and women of our Armed Forces.

Jaime Angelini

Jaime Angelini serves as Director of Consumer Services at the Mental Health Association in Atlantic County. Her focus as Director is the oversight and management of a range community-based services that provide individualized support, education and advocacy services to adults with mental illness. Jaime received her BA in Psychology from Richard Stockton College and has her Masters Degree in Organizational Management. She is a Disaster Response Crisis Counselor and is working toward the completion of her CADC certification.

Jean Rice

Jean Rice recently secured housing after being homeless for nearly 30 years. He picks up cans for recycling and engages in constitutionally-protected freedom of activities such as panhandling. Jean is an avid student of history and was incarcerated in Attica from 1963 to 1965. Jean has been an active leader of the Civil Rights Committee at Picture the Homeless since 2001. Through his work with the Poverty Initiative at Union Theological Seminary, and as a leader of Picture the Homeless, Jean has been instrumental in building a coalition of faith communities to support homeless resistance to poverty and racism.
